| I walked a half marathon last weekend. Just something I had wanted to do in the year 2006 and I made it in under 4 hours. It was quite an experience as there was horrible traffic in Long Beach at 7 am on Sunday morning. We walked across the start line 15 minutes late. Luckily they have timing chips that start the clock when you go across the start line, across the 10K and at the finish. We actually ended up walking the 2nd half faster that the fist. It was A LOT of fun. There was a mile or two when I wasn't sure if my partner in crime was going to finish with me, but after mile 10 we really picked up the pace and thanks to a timely banana we rocked the finish line! I hope to have pics soon. | | |
| I got a job!! Started on Monday. I should have updated sooner. I like the job, working for a carpet cleaning business getting thing organized. I work with a woman who is a believer and it is a great place. I can't complain about the pay and they know I will be leaving sometime in the next few months. That was the hardest part about finding a job. But I did! Thanks be to Him! Support is going well, I have made it to 42%. I have an ambitious prayer to be at 50% by October 8th. That is something only He can do. Need about $400 in monthly donations for that to happen. I need to work harder to let His work shine. | | |
| Well, I didn't get the job. It was a tough decision between several qualified alpicants and they went with someone else. That was not what I wanted to read-- they sent a letter. I guess it wasn't the job for me then. Right now I am cleaning houses and doing other odd jobs to scrape by. God continues to provide so I guess I shouldn't (was going to say can't- but have) complain.
Support raising is going well. I am really encouraged, but not as motivated as I should be. People are approaching me to join my team and see how they can help. I am seeing monthly support come in as well as referrals. What an awesome God!
Please keep me in your prayers. Honestly I am not putting the effort into this that I should.
I am going to Fresno this weekend for several reasons. I get to see Ashley, go to a Briday Shower, visit supporters and see other friends. It is going to be a crazy few days.
Off to go clean a house!! Woo hoooooooo | | |
| I have had two job interviews with a non-profit org for an Admin Assistant/ events assistant. This job is part-time, 25 hours a week and I can determine the hours I work every week. It seems like such a perfect position for me during this time. I think I would have a lot to offer the organization and it would really help me with my schedule, and some extra money. They called 3 of us back for second interviews and I should hear back within the next day or so. I REALLY want this job. | | |
